Hume Pod 2.0 vs Oxiline Scale MD Pro (Gen 2)

An 8-sensor platform scale next to a glass scale with a handheld sensor.

Updated Oct 31, 2026 · Independent guide by Sensory Haven Co. · Specs from each brand's own pages

Both scales use 8 contact points to estimate body composition and show segmental results. The Hume Pod 2.0 puts its hand and foot sensors on a compact platform. The Oxiline Scale MD Pro (Gen 2) pairs a glass platform with a handheld sensor and adds Wi-Fi. Here is what each brand lists for its own scale.

How they differ

Design and measuring

The Hume Pod 2.0 measures through 8 solid metal sensors for your hands and feet, all on the platform, with a contact check before each reading. The Oxiline Scale MD Pro (Gen 2) splits its 8 electrodes between transparent electrodes in the glass platform and a handheld sensor, so you hold a grip while you stand on it.

Metrics and segments

Hume lists 45+ metrics and segmental results for arms, legs and trunk. Oxiline lists 57 metrics for the Gen 2, with fat and muscle readings for the trunk and each arm and leg. Both are estimates from bioelectrical impedance, so the most useful number is often the trend over time on the same scale.

Power and connection

The Hume Pod 2.0 is rechargeable, with up to a year per charge per Hume, and connects over Bluetooth. Oxiline lists 4 AAA batteries with about 4 months of use, plus both Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, so readings can sync without your phone close by.

Range and households

Hume lists 11 to 441 lb for the Pod 2.0, a higher top limit than the 13.2 to 396 lb Oxiline lists. Hume supports separate accounts with up to 24 devices connected, one phone at a time.

About the first Scale MD Pro

Oxiline also sells the original Scale MD Pro. Oxiline lists 31 metrics, stainless steel electrodes plus a handheld sensor, a rechargeable battery, and Bluetooth only. This guide compares the Gen 2.
