Hume Pod 2.0 vs Withings Body Scan

Two segmental body composition scales with different designs.

Updated Oct 31, 2026 · Independent guide by Sensory Haven Co. · Specs from each brand's own pages

Both scales go beyond weight and give a segmental view of body composition. The Hume Pod 2.0 uses sensors under your hands and feet on a compact platform. The Withings Body Scan adds a pull-out handle and a larger color display. Here is what each brand lists, plus a note on the simpler Withings Body Comp.

How they differ

Design and measuring

The Hume Pod 2.0 measures through 8 solid metal sensors for your hands and feet, with a contact check before each reading. The Withings Body Scan pairs its platform with a retractable handle and breaks results into 5 body zones. Body Scan also includes heart-focused features through the handle, which Withings describes on its own page.

Display, power and connection

Hume lists a 2.8" display that stays hidden until you step on, and up to a year per charge. Withings lists a 3.2" color display, USB-C charging and about a year per charge. Body Scan syncs over Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth, so readings can upload without your phone nearby. The Hume Pod uses Bluetooth and syncs with Apple Health and Google Fit.

Households

The Hume Pod 2.0 lets each person use their own Hume account, with up to 24 devices connected, one phone at a time. Withings lists up to 8 users and special modes for athletes, pregnancy, weighing a baby and eyes-closed weigh-ins.

App and plans

Hume says no premium plan is needed to weigh in or view body composition, and Hume Plus is optional. Withings offers a free app for baseline metrics, with Withings+ as an optional premium service.

About Withings Body Comp

Withings lists body fat, water, muscle and bone mass, visceral fat and BMR, up to 8 users, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 2.8" color display and 4 AAA batteries lasting about 15 months. Withings notes it does not give segmental results.
