How they differ

How you stand

On the Hume Pod 2.0 you stand on the platform with hands and feet on its sensors. The InBody Dial H30 uses foot electrodes plus a handle you hold with your thumbs on the electrodes. Both give a segmental breakdown: arms, legs and trunk for Hume, and 5 segments for InBody.

Measuring method

InBody lists DSM-BIA at 3 frequencies for the Dial H30. Hume describes bioelectrical impedance through eight electrodes and lists more than 45 metrics in its app. InBody lists outputs such as skeletal muscle mass, body fat mass, visceral fat level, BMR and its own InBody Score.

Range, power and connection

Hume lists 11 to 441 lb and a rechargeable battery of up to a year per charge. InBody lists 22 to 330.7 lb and 4 AA batteries. The Dial H30 connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while the Hume Pod uses Bluetooth and syncs with Apple Health and Google Fit.

After you buy

Hume offers 45-day returns and a 1-year warranty. The InBody USA shop lists a 1-month return window and a 1-year warranty. Both list HSA/FSA eligibility. If you are also looking at the InBody H20N, InBody lists it with 2 frequencies and Bluetooth only.
